AYI SOLOMON born and raised in Mamprobi, a suburb of Accra, Ghana. He is a self taught musician. Ayi Solomon played with the famous band, Classic Vibes, touring extensively in Africa and in 1982, in Europe to participate in the Annual Afro Festival. At the end of the festival he went to Germany with Classique Vibes under a one-year management contract playing in American and German clubs. After the tour, Ayi decided to stay in Copenhagen and has since then toured the world with the following musicians and bands: Palle Mikkelborg, John Sund, Susi Hyldgaard, Katrine Suwalski Another World, Alain Apaloo’s Api Pipo, MoussaDiallo, Pierre Dørge & New Jungle Orchestra,  Rasmus Lyberth, Tax Office, Himmerland, Simon Spang Hansen, Dalia Faitelson’s Global Sound with Jerry Bergonzi, Randy Brecker, Adam Nussbaum, Chris Cheek, Lelo Nika, & Thommy Anderson…

To his credit, Ayi Solomon has released 3 albums Back Home on Cope records, Themes of Hope and recently, Birth Code. Most of the compositions are from Solomon’s own hand, and besides being featured as a percussionist Solomon also handles the vocals.
